Extending the work of the SlaveVoyages project, which is a collaborative digital initiative that compiles and makes publicly accessible records of the largest slave trades in history, ECDS Senior Video Producer Steve Bransford produced a “making of” video about the creation of the Marie Séraphique slave vessel 3D model. This video goes into the technical aspects of creating an historically accurate model but also considers the ethical aspects of depicting events from the Middle Passage, and has been viewed 72,180 times on Vimeo.
